2nd Consortium Meeting and IEEE Mediterranean Communication and Computer Networking Conference (MedComNet 2024)

June 13, 2024

The 22nd Mediterranean Communication and Computer Networking Conference (MedComNet 2024) was held in Nice, France, from 11 to 13 June 2024. MedComNet is a forum for the presentation of new research results in the field of wired and wireless communications and computer networks. We are pleased to announce that CANDI team members not only participated in the conference, but also played a key role in the organisation of the event.

In particular, Jérôme Härri was the General Chair of this year’s edition of MedComNet, while Ion Turcanu was TPC Co-Chair. CANDI team presented two papers at the conference (”Mitigating Collisions in Sidelink NR V2X: A Study on Cooperative Resource Allocation” and ”AoI-Aware and Persistence-Driven Congestion Control in 5G NR-V2X Sidelink Communications”), which showcased the latest results of the CANDI project.

During the same period, the second consortium meeting and the advisory board meeting were hosted in Nice, where the attendees discussed and reviewed the progress of the project, evaluated current challenges, and outlined strategies for the next phases.

IEEE Vehicular Networking Conference (VNC 2024)

May 31, 2024

We are proud to announce that CANDI was represented at the 15th IEEE Vehicular Networking Conference (VNC 2024), which took place in Kobe, Japan, from 29 to 31 May 2024. The conference is the primary venue for experts interested in cooperative and autonomous driving, as well as vehicular communications in general.

Among the CANDI participants were Ion Turcanu and Saleh Nikooroo, who presented a poster entitled “Evaluating the Potential of Mode 2(b) Resource Allocation in NR V2X Sidelink“, which highlights the most recent results of the CANDI project. Ion Turcanu was also part of the organizing committee as Poster/Demo Co-Chair.

1st Consortium Meeting

On October 3rd and 4th, 2023, the CANDI project consortium met for the first time in person at LIST premises in Belval, Luxembourg. The first day focused on reviewing the main activities in each work package and planning the next steps. The second day focused more on practical and implementation aspects. In particular, two PhD students from EURECOM organized an NS3 workshop on 5G NR V2X simulation. A second workshop was also organized by EURECOM, where the latest progress of NR V2X implementation in OAI was presented.
